General information
The Wedding will be held in Calicut but it may be cheaper for some visitors to fly into Kochi. If you fly into Kochi, we will organize transportation to Calicut.
There are no direct flights from major western cities to either Calicut or Kochi so you will need a layover. If your layover is in India make sure you have enough time because you will have to recheck your bag. There is no need to do this if your layover is in a Gulf Country like Dubai or Abu Dhabi.
INDIA IS FAR FROM THE UNITED STATES! With timezones and depending on your layover, it can take a calendar day + to reach India from the United States.
Flying into Calicut CCJ
Calicut airport CCJ is the closest to wedding. Anyone arriving at CCJ can easily take a quick car ride to the accommodations. There’s no Uber in Calicut, you can use ‘Ola’, or arrange to have your hotel send a car to the airport to pick you up.
Flying into Kochi COK
Kochi COK may be cheaper to travel from some destinations, but it is a 4 to 5 hour (depending on traffic) to the wedding in Calicut. We will help organize transportation to Calicut for guests arriving to Kochi. Kochi is a major tourist destination so guests may want to spend a day there.
Getting an Indian eVisa
Do it well in advance but its easy as 1,2,3 and is usually rubber stamped. You fill out a form, pay them a little money and they email you a confirmation. Print the confirmation and bring it with you.
